WHO IS PETE COHEN

Pete Cohen is a world renowned speaker, coach, and author with more than thirty years of experience helping individuals and organisations move from survival mode into clarity and direction. His work supports people to stop, breathe, and think big when facing change and uncertainty.

Pete has worked with world class athletes, Olympic champions, senior leaders, and organisations across the globe. His focus is not on motivation for its own sake, but on helping people slow down enough to regain perspective, choose intention over reaction, and move forward with confidence rather than force.

He has written 20 books, hosted the top ten Mi365 Podcast, and spent many years working in television. Pete presented his own show The Coach on Discovery and was the resident Life Coach on ITV’s GMTV for twelve years. Millions have engaged with his work through speaking, writing, and guided practices that help people calm their nervous system, clarify their thinking, and respond more intentionally to life.

Often referred to as Mr Intention, Pete specialises in mindset, human behaviour, and performance under pressure. His work integrates psychology, neuroscience, and lived experience to help people take ownership of their choices and build a future grounded in clarity rather than fear.

PETE'S JOURNEY AND CHALLENGES

Pete’s work is rooted in real life. From a young age, he experienced dyslexia, imposter syndrome, and a persistent sense of inadequacy. These early challenges shaped a drive to prove himself and to keep moving forward without stopping to reflect.

In his twenties, Pete developed chronic fatigue syndrome. It was the first time his body forced him to stop. Although his career continued to grow, something remained unresolved. Even as a published author and coach working with world champions, he felt caught in a cycle of striving without arrival.

A major turning point came in 2010 when he met his wife Hannah during the Icelandic ash cloud crisis. Her calm presence and strength deeply influenced how Pete viewed life. When Hannah was diagnosed with stage four cancer in 2011, they embarked on a journey through uncertainty, choosing hope and intention rather than fear. She survived cancer twice before later being taken by COVID in 2023.

Losing Hannah was the most profound challenge Pete had faced. It forced him to confront grief, identity, and the deeper purpose of his work. Through this experience, he came to understand how many people live in survival mode, constantly reacting to life rather than choosing how they meet it.

A Life Transformed by Hannah’s Legacy

Hannah’s belief in intentional thinking continues to shape Pete’s work. It is all about staying present, choosing intention, and meeting life with courage and grace.

Her legacy inspired Pete to fully commit to helping others turn good intentions into lived practice. This philosophy now sits at the heart of his work, guiding people to slow down, breathe, and act with clarity even when life feels uncertain.

PETE's BRAND NEW TALK FOR 2025:

Navigating Change and Uncertainty

In a world that feels increasingly unpredictable, many people respond by speeding up and clinging to certainty. Pete Cohen offers a different approach. One that helps people stop, breathe, and think big when facing change and uncertainty.

At the heart of this talk is the understanding that certainty is often an illusion. In response to pressure, people develop familiar patterns of behaviour that feel safe but quietly limit growth. Pete refers to these patterns as Comfort Habits. While they provide short term relief, they often prevent people from responding intentionally to what life is asking of them.

Pete’s work invites individuals and organisations to slow down, notice their habits, and choose intention over reaction. By learning to pause, regulate pressure, and think clearly, people discover that uncertainty does not have to be feared. It can become a place of perspective, learning, and meaningful progress.

Thriving in uncertainty is not about pushing harder or seeking constant certainty. It is about knowing when to stop, how to breathe, and how to move forward with intention.

This talk equips people with practical ways to navigate change, think more clearly, and build lasting stability in an uncertain world.

Comfort Habits and the Illusion of Certainty

Comfort Habits are behaviours and routines that create predictability and a sense of control. While they feel reassuring, they often keep people stuck in familiar patterns even when change is required.

Pete helps audiences recognise where certainty is being used as protection rather than wisdom. By learning to stop and reflect, people begin to see new options and regain choice in how they move forward.

Overload, Resistance, and Stress

Overload often builds quietly. Small pressures accumulate until thinking narrows and stress becomes the default state. Pete explores how unmanaged pressure affects the nervous system, decision making, and emotional balance.

By teaching simple practices to breathe under pressure and slow reactive thinking, Pete helps people reduce stress, restore clarity, and respond more intentionally in demanding environments.

High Performers and the Embrace of Challenge

High performers do not eliminate uncertainty. They learn how to work within it. Pete’s experience with business leaders, Olympic athletes, and elite teams shows that the ability to pause, reflect, and think clearly is what separates sustained success from burnout.

By learning to stop, choose intention, and think big rather than react small, individuals and teams develop resilience, adaptability, and a steadier response to challenge.

The Role of Intentions and Alignment

Central to Pete's approach is the concept of "My Intentions 365 Days a Year" (MI365). This framework encourages individuals to set clear, purposeful intentions daily, fostering alignment between personal values and actions. Such intentional living enhances internal culture, strengthens brand identity, and ensures coherence in day-to-day operations and habits.
