Pete Cohen’s journey is one of resilience, discovery, and transformation. From overcoming personal challenges to inspiring millions worldwide, Pete’s story is a testament to the power of intention, purpose, and perseverance.

EARLY CHALLENGES AND LESSONS

Born with boundless energy but faced with ADHD, dyslexia, and self-doubt, Pete’s early years were marked by challenges that shaped his drive to succeed. Labeled “hyperactive” and “difficult,” Pete often felt like he didn’t fit in. Yet, with the unwavering support of his mother, who believed there was an answer to every problem, he developed a deep commitment to finding solutions—not just for himself but for others as well.

DISCOVERING A PASSION FOR WELLNESS

In 1989, Pete took his first steps into the world of health and fitness as a young and enthusiastic fitness instructor. It was here that he discovered his passion for helping people transform their lives. However, he quickly realized that physical fitness was only part of the equation. The way people thought and felt about themselves was the missing piece in achieving lasting change.

This insight led Pete to delve deeper into psychology, behavior change, and the mind-body connection. He became one of the first to bridge the gap between fitness and personal development, creating programs that focused on the whole person—mind, body, and spirit.

A TRAILBLAZER IN PERSONAL GROWTH

Pete’s innovative approach to wellness didn’t stop with fitness. He authored over 20 books, including bestsellers on motivation, habit change, and self-improvement, sharing his practical insights and inspiring readers worldwide. Programs like Lighten Up and Shape Up helped thousands take control of their health and build positive habits that last.

Pete’s groundbreaking work caught the attention of global organizations, and he became a sought-after coach and speaker, guiding teams and individuals to think bigger, act boldly, and live with intention.

FACING LIFE'S GREATEST CHALLENGES

In the past five years, Pete has endured the most profound and painful challenges of his life. He lost his beloved wife, Hannah, in May 2023 after her courageous 14-year battle with brain cancer. Her strength, positivity, and philosophy of “Just Get On With IT”—with IT being intentional thinking—were a constant source of inspiration, not only during her illness but throughout Pete’s journey.

Hannah’s passing came on the heels of losing both his mother and father in the preceding years, leaving Pete to navigate an immense wave of grief. These losses tested him in ways he could never have imagined.

Hannah’s remarkable resilience and unwavering belief in the power of intentional thinking became a guiding light for Pete. Despite the heartbreak of her passing, her philosophy inspired him to transform his life. For Hannah, “Just Get On With IT” wasn’t about ignoring hardship—it was about embracing life’s challenges with grace, courage, and purpose, and staying deeply rooted in intentional thought.

SHIT: Stress Hindering Intentional Thinking

Pete was a resident life coach for GMTV for 12 years and made regular appearances on BBC2’s Confidence Lab and This Morning. He also appeared on Going for the Burn, Fat Chance and Fantasy Retirement as well as presenting his own TV programme, The Coach, with Andrea McClean.

He was internationally recognised as an expert for his formula for happiness in 2012 and still makes regular appearances on TV and radio .
