Tale of Anxiety-Interview with Katie Porter

Have you ever suffered from anxiety before? Any intrusive thoughts that you’d rather not be there?

In this episode, we are joined by the amazing Katie Porter (Pickworth) for a run down of her new book titled: ‘Going Doolally: An honest tale of anxiety and motherhood’.

After a lifetime of managing anxious thoughts, Katie gives us a candid insight into how motherhood caused a bump in the road, leading to receiving medication and her story back towards positive mental health.

Katie shares with us her story of anxiety – starting at just 4 years old with the passing of her grandma – and the journey she’s been on ever since including struggles at school, with friends and in the workplace. Despite this, Katie explains how she managed to build a successful career in TV production – meeting our host Pete Cohen! – and learn that we are all in control of our thoughts and feelings, with the option of making different choices.

The break off into a wider discussion into anxiety within the world of TV/media, discussing the importance of mental health support for reality TV stars, why nutrition is so important for positivity and how to develop a sense of appreciation for life.
