When technology becomes outdated, most of us are guilty of throwing it away and buying the latest version. However, if we want to upgrade ourselves – including both our bodies and our minds, it’s not that simple. Humans are not disposable, but we are upgradable and in this episode we explore how to harness the power of our minds to trigger our innate growth response.
Using examples of high-performing athletes, Pete explains how the image of ourselves governs what we achieve. Pete describes the Reticular Activating System (RAS) and its role as the gatekeeper of sensory information. Our RAS filter out information which it doesn’t perceive as important and will continually flag information which affirms our current beliefs – “I can’t do it”. It is possible to train your RAS to identify information which supports a new version of you – you as confident, determined, empowered and able to deliver your dreams and ambitions.
Without setting a vision, it is incredibly easy to get caught up in modern life and in 12 months’ time be in a very similar position. By using priming meditation, it is possible to invent any ‘re-invention of the self’, which can be supercharged by incorporating positive energy and excitement into your plans for the future.
