5 Success Strategies That Will Make Your Life Remarkable

Are you living the life you want or are you one of the many people living a default future? How can you successfully live a remarkable life?

A default future is living a life you do not want. People fail to live the desired life because often they live in survival mode and react to how society wants them to be. They are unaware of the choices they have.

Others get sidetracked by the rewards of nearer goals and lose sight of their bigger aims. However, one does not have to continue living an unhappy, unfulfilling life as there are ways you can take to have the great life you deserve.

Key success strategies for a remarkable life:

1. Be aware of where you are.

To live a remarkable life, the first key strategy is to stop and look at the experience of being you. Be aware of where your life is right now for without it your life can never improve.

It is important to have an unbiased assessment of your current self. Look at the results you have produced, mistakes you have learned, insights you have learned, where your actions have taken you without blaming yourself.

If you let your emotions rule you are in for a disaster. As your frustrations set in and blame yourself you will get stuck and keep living a life you do not want.

However, having an impartial evaluation of yourself allows you to determine your starting point to change your life. Through it you can determine what you have accomplished and what you need to develop further, the actions you need to make to live the life you want.

2. The power to create your future self is within you.

You have the capacity to see a future self that you can create. As you develop ideas about your future you begin to imagine them. You visualize your future self in different scenarios, different futures.

You do not have to be the person you are today, nor the person society wants you to be. You can be someone different. You can be your own unique self. The key is to utilize your imagination to simulate the future you want to have and to exhaust all possibilities that exist for you.

As Napoleon Hill once said, “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve. Therefore, any future that you can envision in your mind can become a reality.

3. Identify and commit to your future self.

Once you have created visions of your future self, the next crucial approach is to choose the person you want to become and form a relationship with him.

Who do you want to be in five or ten years?

Most often people fail to make a conscious choice of who they want to be. They think who they are is who they are always going to be, but the fact is change is inevitable.

You are not the same person you were a year ago. Do you like how you have changed? Choosing to be someone better than your present self leads you to a positive change.

Do not limit yourself to the talents or skills that you have but instead select the best possibility you can have for yourself. Skills can be learned, habits can be improved, opportunities can be created when you have determined the future you want to go out and create.

Your chosen future self will be your goal that will dictate the path you take but it is not enough to have an aim. Intentions remain as concepts inside your head unless you commit to them.

Treating your future self as a different individual favors you to form a better relationship with the person you want to be. Hal Hershfield, through studies he conducted, has determined and said that “seeing the future self as another person, albeit one who feels close to us now, may allow for more patient, long-term decision-making.”

Having the connection to the person you have chosen to become prompts you to care, act and turn your dreams into reality no matter how difficult it can be. You think about how your every action will affect the future you.

You overcome challenges of internal and external resistance, procrastination, and distraction when you are committed to your goals. You listen to your future self and let him guide you thereby having greater assurance that you will live the life you want.

4. Act and be ready to fail.

Act towards the intentions you have set yourself to do. It has been said that the hardest thing to do is to take the first step, to act towards the fulfillment of your intentions but it does not have to be that way.

Taking the initial move can be easy if you breakdown your goals to smaller, more achievable ones. Write them down and place them where you can easily see them so you can always remind yourself of the person you want to be.

Make your goals public. Surround yourself with likeminded people who can support and encourage you to accomplish your goal. Let them motivate you and inspire you to be better.

Work towards your smaller targets every day. Avoid procrastinating, ruminating or being distracted through Mel Robbins’ 5 second rule. Counting down to 5, 4, 3,2,1 activates your mind and directs your energy to get in the game and do what is necessary.

Once you have taken the dreaded initial step and gotten mind in the game, the next ones should be easier. You will have momentum to do more.

However, there will be times that you fail at your mini goals, but this should not deter you from being your future self. Use your failures and learn from them.

Instead of dwelling in failures ask yourself these questions: What insights can I gain? What did not work? How can I avoid committing the same mistakes? How can I make things better?

5. Keep reinventing yourself.

The final success strategy for you to live the extraordinary life you dream of is to continue to grow and learn. Life is not about competing with others, rather it is a competition with yourself, to be someone better than the previous you.

People often do not know what to do once they have achieved their goals but accomplishing what you have initially set yourself out to do is not the end of everything. Growth is the essence of life.

Forming new aims, new visions, reinventing yourself allows you to improve. It gives you the desire to do more, to adapt to new situations, to mindfully change and to live a more fulfilled life.

Continue to dream bigger than before as the possibilities are endless. Create your legacy.

Great life does not happen by chance, it happens by design.
